Back in 1990-91 I was in a band called "12th Night." We were very keyboard, synthesizer and drum machine oriented, something I still hold near and dear to my heart, and music I still love to this day. But all the while I was also writing my own music, along with writing most of the lyrics to the guys' music. So one day I brought this song to the guys and this it what we came up with. This is technically the original, first version of "For A Friend," and it served as the prototype for the arrangement that would eventually appear on my solo CD, "Somewhere In Between."
